The Queensland Community Energy Forums are free public events delivered by Coexistence Queensland, in partnership with the Queensland Renewable Energy Council, the Queensland Government, and host local councils.

These forums bring together community, industry, and government to share reliable and factual information about Queensland’s energy sector and upcoming projects in each region. They provide a unique opportunity for open discussion, helping landholders, residents, and local businesses understand what to expect during the development process, while enabling industry to hear directly from the communities they work alongside.

With significant energy projects underway and proposed across Queensland, the forums offer a timely platform to:

Connect communities with the latest information on local energy development
Hear first-hand from landholders, companies, and government representatives
Explore how benefits can be shared and impacts effectively managed

These forums are an opportunity to build shared understanding, strengthen partnerships, and ultimately, put community at the core of Queensland’s energy future.

These events were previously known as the Queensland Community Renewables Forum. We’ve updated the name to the Queensland Community Energy Forum to better reflect the broader conversations our communities are having about how agriculture, energy, and the resources sector can work sustainably together. It’s about recognising the opportunities and challenges we share and creating space to explore them side by side.

“There are lots of questions coming out of our community, so we felt it was a wonderful opportunity to get on the front foot and join community with business, with government, and allow community to ask questions, find out more about what’s happening in regards to renewables.” Cr Andrew Smith, Mayor, Western Downs Regional Council.
